Semiu is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN), a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria (CITN), a registered professional of the Financial Reporting Council of Nigeria, a Chartered Member of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT), a member of the Nigerian Institute of Management and a participant at the Senior Management Program (SMP74) of the Lagos Business School.

He holds a bachelor of arts in philosophy and has received numerous certifications including Port Facility Security Officer (PFSO), Nigerian Institute for Industrial Security Certified Security Specialist (CCS), Nigerian Police Force (Spy Police), Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP), and the International Ship Port Facility Security Code.
Akinola has over 20 years’ experience in accounting operations across the FMCG, Legal, Trade and Development sectors.
He is skilled in inventory control and audit controls as well as providing financial reports and forecasts that ensure compliance and identify opportunities for growth for the company.
He holds a Masters of Business Administration (MBA) in Financial Management from Ladoke Akintola University of Technology and has certifications in building financial models, and an Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT) qualification.
